  There’s no need to commit to a time, we’ll have rooms and suites all dressed for an event to help you picture your day, and the team will be on hand from 5:00pm till 8:00pm - happy to answer your questions and show you around the suites, talk through your ideas and look at menu choices too.

• Civil weddings

  
  The Solent Hotel, Fareham has been granted approval from Winchester City Council to use it's premises for the Solemnisation of Marriages in pursuance of section 26(1) (bb) of the Marriage Act 1949.
  
  We have suites available for civil wedding ceremonies that can accommodate 25 to 100 guests.

  Couples wishing to hold their marriage on the premises should note the following points:
  

  • As soon as provisional arrangements have been made, the couple should notify the Superintendent Registrar at Fareham registry office at:

  • A fee for the registrar's attendance will be payable by the couple prior to the ceremony.
    
    
  • The couple will also have to give notice of marriage to the Superintendent Registrar of the District in which they live. This notice must be given in person by one of the couple.
    
    
  • The Superintendent Registrar can only permit a civil, non-religious ceremony. Any music, readings or performances, which form any part of the ceremony, must be secular (non-religious). The content of the ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar who will be attending the ceremony.
    
    
    
• Renewing your marriage vows

  
  This is a very personal ceremony for any couple wishing to celebrate their marriage. It might be to celebrate a special anniversary, or an event for family and friends following a marriage abroad.
